Research Project:~ I think fashion is about suspense and surprise and fantasy. It’s not about rules. ~

This morning we were briefed on our ranking project !!it was all terribly exciting.I'm looking forward to it for sure ,but dreading having to get up at eight tomorrow morning to buy a few bits and bobs I'll need for the project.
Basically we were given a research project for the duration of the week(whilst some party it up in the big apple).I started messing around with ideas today, trying to pull images. Our themes are Enclosure,Decay,Tribal,Electric and Memories and we have to focus on colour, texture, shape , form ,volume and structure. It's important to choose a theme that will resonate with me and these features as I will eventually have to create a garment .If the themes not working for me or its not interesting , then obviously my garment will be dull or wont work etc etc and what with this being a fashion design course I hope to do for the next three years, the success of the  garment is always of paramount importance!!!

By the end of the research week we should have an a3 sketchbook of research and 2 a4 sketchbooks filled with research we have conducted on sewing techniques and knitting.
